What are they?

Council houses are properties that are owned by public authorities and are rented on a subsidised basis to people in financial difficulty (individuals and families).

Edilizia Pubblica Pratese S.p.A. is the organisation that manages designated private houses and council houses that are owned by public authorities in the Prato area.

Selection

At least every four years the Comune issues a public announcement to assign council housing in the entire province.


Council housing is available only to persons who apply and are included on the waiting list. 

The most recent public housing announcement was made in 2015 and was open from 29.10.2015 to 12.01.2016

Who can apply?

The following persons can apply for selection (on a parr with Italian citizens): 

• Non-EU citizens in possession of an EU long term residence permit
• Non-EU citizens in possession of a residence permit for subordinate or autonomous work, for a period of at least 2 years.
